When you sign up for BlockAlert, we collect the following information:
- Account information: Your business name, business address, contact name, email address, and phone number.
- Business details: Your license types (liquor, sidewalk cafe, etc.) and preferred digest schedule, so we can tailor alerts to your situation.
- Usage data: We track email opens and link clicks to understand which alerts are most useful and improve the service.
- Payment information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, expiration date, or CVC on our servers. Stripe handles all payment data securely under their own privacy policy.

How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide the service: Your business address and license types allow us to match relevant government activity to your specific situation.
- To improve alert relevance: Usage data helps us understand what types of alerts matter most, so we can improve the quality and accuracy of the service over time.
- To communicate with you: We send weekly digests, urgent alerts, and occasional account updates. We will not send marketing emails unrelated to the service.

Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Period.
We use a small number of third-party services to operate BlockAlert:
- Stripe — Payment processing
- Resend — Email delivery
- Supabase — Data storage and database hosting
These services receive only the data necessary to perform their function. We do not share your information with anyone else, unless required to do so by law.

Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your subscription is active.
If you cancel your subscription and request deletion of your data, we will remove your personal information from our systems. Some anonymized, aggregated data (such as alert engagement statistics) may be retained for service improvement purposes.
