Section 1

Service Description

BlockAlert is an informational monitoring service operated by BlockAlert. We aggregate publicly available government data relevant to restaurant owners and food service businesses in New York City.

This includes NYC regulatory filings, permits, inspections, liquor license activity, community board agendas, and related government actions that could affect your business.

The service is delivered via a weekly email digest and occasional urgent alerts when time-sensitive government actions are detected.

Disclaimer & No Guarantee

BlockAlert presents publicly available government data and identifies patterns in that data. Observations about complaint trends, inspection activity, enforcement patterns, and readiness scores are based on historical public records and do not constitute predictions of future government action. BlockAlert does not have access to non-public government schedules or plans.

Financial exposure estimates are approximations based on published NYC Department of Health, SLA, and DOB fine schedules. Actual fines, penalties, and enforcement outcomes vary by circumstance. These estimates are provided for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as financial or legal advice.

BlockAlert is not a law firm, accounting firm, or licensed compliance consultant. Nothing in our alerts, digests, reports, or communications constitutes legal, financial, tax, or professional compliance advice. For specific legal or compliance questions, consult a qualified professional.

While we make reasonable efforts to ensure data accuracy, government data sources may contain errors, delays, or omissions. BlockAlert is not responsible for decisions made based on information that proves to be inaccurate or incomplete.

Limitation of Liability

BlockAlert is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, about the completeness, reliability, or accuracy of the information provided.

In no event shall BlockAlert's total liability exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

BlockAlert's total liability is capped at the aggregate subscription fees you have paid in the 12 months preceding any claim.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
We are not liable for actions you take or do not take based on information provided by BlockAlert.
We are not liable for government data that is delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate at the source.

Section 4

Subscription Terms

BlockAlert is a monthly subscription service, billed on the same date each month.

Founding member rate: Early subscribers receive a locked rate of $49/month for life.
Standard rate: $149/month for subscribers who join after the founding period.
Cancellation: You may cancel your BlockAlert subscription at any time by replying to any digest email or emailing hello@blockalert.today. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds for unused time. Upon cancellation, you will continue to receive digests through the end of your paid period.
We reserve the right to change pricing for new subscribers with 30 days notice. Your existing rate will not change.

Data and Privacy

We collect your business name, address, contact information, and license types in order to provide the service and tailor alerts to your specific situation.

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties.

Section 6

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will notify you via email with reasonable notice before changes take effect.

Your continued use of BlockAlert after changes are communicated constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles.
