Service Description

BlockAlert is an informational monitoring service operated by Herd LLC. We aggregate publicly available government data relevant to restaurant owners and food service businesses in New York City.

This includes NYC regulatory filings, permits, inspections, liquor license activity, community board agendas, and related government actions that could affect your business.

The service is delivered via a weekly email digest and occasional urgent alerts when time-sensitive government actions are detected.

BlockAlert is not legal, regulatory, or compliance advice. Nothing in our alerts, emails, or website should be interpreted as professional legal counsel.

We do not guarantee comprehensive coverage of all government filings or actions. Our monitoring covers specific public data sources, and there may be government activity relevant to your business that falls outside our scope.

The data we provide is sourced from public government databases. These databases may contain errors, delays, or omissions that are beyond our control. We present the information as we find it, but we cannot verify its accuracy at the source.

You should not rely on BlockAlert as your sole source of regulatory monitoring. We strongly recommend consulting with qualified legal or compliance professionals before making decisions that affect your business based on information from our service.

Limitation of Liability

BlockAlert is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, about the completeness, reliability, or accuracy of the information provided.

Herd LLC's total liability is capped at the aggregate subscription fees you have paid in the 12 months preceding any claim.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
We are not liable for actions you take or do not take based on information provided by BlockAlert.
We are not liable for government data that is delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate at the source.

Section 4

Subscription Terms

BlockAlert is a monthly subscription service, billed on the same date each month.

Founding member rate: Early subscribers receive a locked rate of $49/month for life.
Standard rate: $149/month for subscribers who join after the founding period.
Cancellation: You may cancel at any time. Your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
No refunds are issued for partial months.
We reserve the right to change pricing for new subscribers with 30 days notice. Your existing rate will not change.

Section 5

Data and Privacy

We collect your business name, address, contact information, and license types in order to provide the service and tailor alerts to your specific situation.

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties.

Section 6

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will notify you via email with reasonable notice before changes take effect.

Your continued use of BlockAlert after changes are communicated constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles.
